Gillian Thiel is an associate in the Vancouver office of Lawson Lundell and a member of the firm’s Litigation & Dispute Resolution Group, where she practices litigation and administrative law with focus on environmental and regulatory matters.

Gillian obtained her JD from the University of British Columbia, where she earned a Specialization in Environment and Natural Resources Law certificate. She was the recipient of the Harper Grey LLP Prize in Environmental Law. During law school, Gillian volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada, worked as a clinician in the International Justice and Human Rights Clinic, and organized the annual UBC Environmental Negotiation Competition.

Prior to her legal studies, Gillian completed graduate studies in the field of Arctic environmental science and worked for an environmental consulting firm in North Vancouver.
