Marko Vesely Appointed King’s Counsel
Lawson Lundell is delighted to announce that Marko Vesely has been appointed King's Counsel in B.C. for 2023. Recipients of this honour have distinguished themselves through their exemplary counsel, teaching contributions, publications, advocacy and volunteerism. Only 7% of practising members of the bar in B.C. can be awarded the King’s Counsel designation at any time.
First called to the B.C. bar in 2000, Marko is an experienced commercial litigator who represents clients in matters involving class actions, defamation and media, cross-border disputes and commercial arbitrations. He has helped advance the legal profession through his dedicated work on the Law Society Ethics Committee, legal education and mentorship. Marko has lectured at Peter A. Allard School of Law, the University of Victoria Faculty of Law and the University of British Columbia Graduate School of Journalism. He is also a volunteer mentor at the Canadian Bar Association and the University of Toronto Faculty of Law.
