On February 19, 2025, Lawson Lundell lawyers Murray Campbell, Lisa Chamzuk and Gordon Brandt will be speaking at the Essential Tasks of Pension and Benefit Plan Trustees Conference, hosted by the Pacific Business & Law Institute (PBLI). Murray Campbell will chair and present at the conference for the 27th consecutive year.

This conference aims to educate trustees on legal duties, limiting exposure to liabilities, recent legal updates, and best practices for creating successful and sustainable plans.

Murray Campbell will chair the conference and present on "Recent Legal Developments," covering the latest pension and benefits case law and statutory developments.

Lisa Chamzuk will present on "Being an Effective Pension and Benefit Trustee: Responsibilities and Protections," addressing the concept of a trust, trustees' duties, liability, use of professional advisors and protections.

Gordon Brandt will present on "Current Issues in Benefit Plan Litigation," discussing recent decisions of note, current issues, and key takeaways for plan administrators.

Murray Campbell Murray Campbell is the head of Western Canada's largest and most experienced Pensions and Benefits Law Group. He has practiced exclusively in the pension and benefits area since 1994. He has experience advising clients with respect to the reorganization and modernization of their pension and benefit plans, as well as their governing documents.
Lisa Chamzuk
Lisa Chamzuk Lisa Chamzuk is a partner in Vancouver office at Lawson Lundell and practices with the firm’s Pensions and Employee Benefits Group and Protection of Privacy and Freedom of Information Group. Lisa’s practice has a particular emphasis on multi-employer pension plans and health and welfare trusts, usually sponsored for specific industries.
Gordon Brandt
Gordon Brandt Gordon Brandt is a partner in the Vancouver office of Lawson Lundell and practices in the firm's Litigation & Dispute Resolution Group.
