Robert Sider Appointed Queen's Counsel
Lawson Lundell is pleased to announce that Robert Sider, head of the Labour, Employment and Human Rights Group at Lawson Lundell, has been appointed Queen’s Counsel (QC) for 2020. The Queen’s Counsel designation recognizes lawyers with exceptional contributions to the legal profession and public life. Rob is one of just 26 recipients for 2020 in British Columbia and there are only 490 QCs out of approximately 13,125 practising members of the bar in British Columbia.
“I am very honoured to receive this appointment and would like to thank my wife, mentors and colleagues who have supported me in achieving this appointment,” said Rob Sider.
Since his admission to the bar in 1991, Rob has made significant contributions to the British Columbia legal industry and to our firm. Rob's practice focuses on management-side labour and employment law. He advises on labour and employment aspects of commercial transactions and day-to-day labour and employment issues. His work includes litigation, arbitrations, human rights, employment standards (including director and officer liability issues), collective bargaining and workers compensation. Rob has appeared in front of labour relations boards, employment standards tribunals, human rights tribunals as well as before the British Columbia Supreme Court and BC Court of Appeal.
Congratulations to Rob and all of the 2020 recipients for this honourable distinction.
