On February 13, 2010, Jennifer Heil was the first Canadian athlete to win a medal at the 2010 Winter Olympics, capturing a silver medal in the women's mogul event held at Cypress Mountain. On February 14, 2010, Alexandre Bilodeau won a gold medal in the men's moguls, becoming the first Canadian to win a gold medal on home soil.
