Lawson Lundell Lawyers Receive Multiple Mondaq Thought Leadership Awards
Four Lawson Lundell lawyers have won multiple Spring 2023 Mondaq Thought Leadership Awards. The awards recognise the top authors based on total readership between October 2022 and March 2023 across several topics. The awards are given to authors that contributed one of the top three most read articles in Canada, or another jurisdiction, for that subject area.
Edward (Ed) Wilson and Timothy Law were the recipients of the Finance and Banking award for their #1 ranked article in China, 'The New Mortgage Services Act: A Brave New World for Non-institutional Lenders, Mortgage Brokers and Administrators in British Columbia.' The article, published on November 13, 2022, discussed the new Mortgage Services Act (the "MSA") introduced by the B.C. legislature on October 4, 2022. Expected to come into force in late 2023, the MSA replaces the current Mortgage Brokers Act by establishing a new regime that regulates many aspects of the mortgage industry in British Columbia.
Christine Kowbel and Will Shaw received the Environmental law award for their #2 ranked article in Canada, 'Canada: Environmental Law 2022.' The article, published on December 5, 2022, provided an overview of the current environmental regulations and enforcement mechanisms in Canada.
Mondaq is an online knowledge resource used by senior decision makers seeking insight from professional services firms. Its contributors come from over 5,280 firms in 138 countries.
Congratulations to Christine, Ed, Timothy and Will!
