Lawson Lundell lawyers Angela Austman and Shannon Hayes, KC have been named Lexology Client Choice award winners for 2025. They are two of just 51 lawyers in Canada to receive this recognition in their respective fields.
The Client Choice awards recognise individuals that stand out for the quality of the legal services they provide their clients. Lawyers are nominated by corporate counsel, with this year’s winners chosen from a pool of more than 2,500 individual client assessments.
Angela Austman | Client Choice - Private Funds
Angela Austman advises both fund sponsors and institutional investors in connection with private equity fund formations, secondaries, fund investments, buyouts and mezzanine financings. She also advises on formation, organization and ongoing operations of retail mutual funds, hedge funds, pooled funds and other investment funds across all asset classes. Angela routinely assists clients in obtaining investment fund manager, portfolio manager and exempt market dealer registration and advises registrants on a wide range of securities registration matters, including exemption applications, regulatory compliance examinations and compliance policies and procedures.
Shannon Hayes, KC | Client Choice - Commercial Litigation
Shannon Hayes practices commercial litigation and arbitration and is the Leader of the Litigation & Dispute Resolution Group in Calgary. She is approaching 20 years of practice in dispute resolution and has a broad range of experience on commercial dispute matters. Shannon has appeared before all levels of court in Alberta and acted in many private arbitrations.
